Welcome to 404 Documentation
Complete documentation for 404 services and features
📚 Welcome to 404 Documentation
Welcome to the comprehensive documentation for 404 - your privacy-focused file sharing, bookmarking, forum, chat, pastebin, linklist, wiki, git hosting, email (new) and IRC communication platform (I know right... it's a lot). This documentation is designed to help you get the most out of my services, whether you're a new user or an experienced one.
🚀 Quick Start
404 is a collection of services designed with privacy and security in mind:
- File Sharing - Anonymous, temporary file hosting with password protection
- Bookmarking - Save and share links. Pretty simple.
- Git Hosting - Collaborative version control with SSH and HTTPS access, and a fancy TUI for browsing repositories
- IRC Chat - Another way to chat with Tor support (for those who love the good old days)
- Paste Service - Share code snippets and text anonymously
- Pages - Create and share markdown-based content in a wiki-like format
- Linklist - Share your bookmarks in a public list so others can visit awesome sites you find
- Forum - Discuss topics in a privacy-focused environment with full markdown support
- Email - Send and receive anonymous emails (new feature, still in early stages)

🌟 Key Features
Privacy First
All services are designed with privacy as the default. No tracking (literally none), no analytics, no data mining. Even better, no javascript :)
Anonymous Access
Most services can be used without registration (I think the chat is the only one that requires it, forum needs it to post but not for browsing). No email required, no personal information collected.
Tor-Friendly
All services are accessible via Tor for maximum anonymity.
Open Source Philosophy
I believe in transparency and open collaboration. My code is available for review.
🔧 Technical Stack
- Backend: PHP 8.x
- Database: SQLite (look, I know it's not the best choice but it works for my needs and keeps things simple)
- Web Server: Nginx
- Security: TLS/SSL encryption, rate limiting, XSS protection
- Rendering: Secure markdown renderer with HTML sanitization
